WestPac Commemorative
Patch - Introduction
| Date: 20
January 2004 From: Art Randall USSVI Central Region Director Subject: WestPac Patch Fundraiser for Holland Club RE: ITEM-03
of Saturday 24 January 2004 The following linked webpage describes what the Lockwood Internet Base (LIB) is doing to provide an infusion of funds to the much needed Holland Club (HC) Treasury, derived from sales of a Commemorative WestPac patch as well as purchase prices, how to order and other patch related details. http://www.ussvi.org/news/040220.htm This is not a commercial enterprise activity, it was conceived and is totally supported by LIB, where some 67% of the net proceeds will be sent to the HC, or more specifically the HC will receive a fixed receipt of $1.75 for every patch patch sold.. It also reaches to the rest of the Navy world that also made WestPac patrols, and to our knowledge, we are the only organization that has developed a commemorative patch or offers one for the WestPac patrol and there are thousands of them in the non-submarine Navy that would be additional prospects for the sale of this WestPac generic patch delivering more money to HC. Why am I involved and an avid supporter? For several reasons. I was asked to design the patch and I did, I am a Holland Club Member and I firmly believe in its objectives and past accomplishments which could be increased by a magnitude in the future, were it more endowed and funded than it is today. The Holland Club is for every member we have or will have that remains a member ... because if we all live long enough, all of our members who were "designated qualified in submarines" will become Holland Club members, and who outside of the USSVI organization itself can make that statement. Thanks Art Randall |
