| Let me start with some history on this
project.
At the 2000 Atlantic City Convention the Base Commanders Group met and as a result made several recommendations during the ABM. One of these recommendations dealt with a proposed 25 Year recognition patch. Mr. George Boyle and myself were asked to research this idea and make a recommendation. With the kind assistance of Mr. Tom Denton, two versions were designed and reviewed by our committee. The first version, although very good, was considered to be too detailed to be adequately reproduced via embroidery machines. George suggested that I might pursue the possibility of redesigning the patch and adopt this project as a S.T. NY Base fund raising effort. This project was presented to and approved by the USSVI National Board of Directors. We had the patches made by a nationally recognized embroidered patch manufacturer that has been in business since 1885. The patch can also be seen at the Southern
